Resumo: O texto explora a complexidade do livre-arbítrio sob a ótica espírita, argumentando que este não é absoluto, mas sim relativo à evolução do Espírito. São apresentadas diversas fontes da doutrina espírita, incluindo obras de Allan Kardec, Chico Xavier e Léon Denis, para demonstrar que os Espíritos Superiores podem intervir em situações cruciais, especialmente quando há um bem coletivo envolvido ou para evitar que o indivíduo cause mal a si mesmo ou a outros. A narrativa utiliza exemplos práticos de intervenções espirituais, como o desvio de projéteis ou o impedimento de suicídios e assassinatos, para ilustrar como a Providência Divina atua. Conclui-se que o livre-arbítrio se expande com a consciência, e que mesmo os Espíritos protetores, em prol do progresso, podem guiar ou até mesmo constranger ações, reafirmando que a vontade de Deus prevalece para o bem maior.

Abstract: This text explores the complexity of free will from a Spiritist perspective, arguing that it is not absolute, but rather relative to the evolution of the Spirit. Various sources of Spiritist doctrine are presented, including works by Allan Kardec, Chico Xavier, and Léon Denis, to demonstrate that Higher Spirits can intervene in crucial situations, especially when a collective good is involved or to prevent an individual from harming themselves or others. The narrative uses practical examples of spiritual interventions, such as deflecting projectiles or preventing suicides and murders, to illustrate how Divine Providence works. It concludes that free will expands with consciousness, and that even protective Spirits, in the interest of progress, can guide or even constrain actions, reaffirming that God’s will prevails for the greater good.
