Abstract: The text is a response to a critique of Spiritism, comparing its methodology to that of science. The author defends the Spiritist doctrine, distinguishing it from the Spiritist movement, arguing that the doctrine is solid and defensible, while the movement needs to evolve. The response addresses points such as the use of logic, common sense, falsifiability and the incorporation of new knowledge, refuting the criticisms presented and justifying the Spiritist approach. The distinction between doctrine and Spiritist movement is crucial in the argument, allowing the defense of the former and the constructive criticism of the latter. Finally, the author emphasizes the search for truth, even with the acceptance of hypotheses that have not yet been fully proven.
