Resumo: O texto apresenta uma refutação de um artigo do pastor Joel Santana que questiona a crença espírita na reencarnação de Elias como João Batista. Abstract:The text presents a refutation of an article by Pastor Joel Santana that questions the Spiritist belief in the reincarnation of Elijah as John the Baptist. The refutation analyzes biblical passages (Matthew 11:14 and Luke 1:17), arguing that the prophecies of the Tanach point to the literal return of Elijah, and that the pastor’s interpretation ignores the context and polysemy of the word “spirit”. The author counter-argues using other biblical passages and historical sources, including the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, to support the Spiritist view of reincarnation. The conclusion directs the reader to a more complete work by the author on the subject.
