Resumo: O artigo refuta a ideia, baseada em uma psicografia de Chico Xavier, de que Allan Kardec reencarnou como João Evangelista. A argumentação central se baseia em registros da Revista Espírita que demonstram a evocação de João Evangelista em sessões espíritas presididas por Kardec, tornando improvável que ambos fossem a mesma pessoa. Além disso, o artigo apresenta o argumento de que Platão e João Evangelista não poderiam ser a mesma pessoa, pois ambos assinaram o “Prolegômenos” de *O Livro dos Espíritos*. A análise de documentos históricos espíritas sustenta a refutação da hipótese original. O autor finaliza argumentando que a prova da afirmação recai sobre aqueles que a defendem.

Summary: The article refutes the idea, based on a psychograph by Chico Xavier, that Allan Kardec reincarnated as John the Evangelist. The central argument is based on records from the Spiritist Magazine that demonstrate the evocation of John the Evangelist in spiritist sessions presided over by Kardec, making it unlikely that both were the same person. In addition, the article presents the argument that Plato and John the Evangelist could not be the same person, since both signed the “Prolegomena” of *The Spirits’ Book*. The analysis of historical spiritist documents supports the refutation of the original hypothesis. The author concludes by arguing that the proof of the statement falls on those who defend it.
