Resumo: O texto discute a diferença entre a lei de causa e efeito e a lei de ação e reação, esclarecendo que, apesar de frequentemente confundidas, são conceitos distintos. A lei de causa e efeito, presente no Espiritismo, enfatiza as consequências morais e físicas das ações individuais, sem a necessidade de uma reação imediata e idêntica. A lei de ação e reação de Newton, por sua vez, é uma lei física limitada, aplicável apenas em contextos específicos e não equivalente à noção espírita de causa e efeito. O texto também aborda o conceito de carma, comparando-o com a lei de ação e reação e destacando a importância de evitar interpretações equivocadas de termos espiríticos. Finalmente, o autor alerta contra a adoção indiscriminada de termos estrangeiros em detrimento da terminologia espírita original.

Abstract: The text discusses the difference between the law of cause and effect and the law of action and reaction, clarifying that, although they are often confused, they are distinct concepts. The law of cause and effect, present in Spiritism, emphasizes the moral and physical consequences of individual actions, without the need for an immediate and identical reaction. Newton’s law of action and reaction, in turn, is a limited physical law, applicable only in specific contexts and not equivalent to the Spiritist notion of cause and effect. The text also addresses the concept of karma, comparing it with the law of action and reaction and highlighting the importance of avoiding mistaken interpretations of Spiritist terms. Finally, the author warns against the indiscriminate adoption of foreign terms to the detriment of the original Spiritist terminology.
