Argumenta-se que a existência no mundo espiritual é de contínua atividade e propósito, não de inação. As fontes, incluindo escritos de Allan Kardec e relatos mediúnicos, descrevem como os espíritos, em todos os níveis de evolução, têm ocupações e missões variadas, desde auxiliar o progresso da humanidade e de outros espíritos até gerenciar fenômenos naturais. Enfatiza-se que essa atividade é uma fonte de felicidade e avanço moral, e que todos os espíritos estão engajados em um trabalho contínuo para o bem universal.

It is argued that existence in the spirit world is one of continuous activity and purpose, not inaction. The sources, including the writings of Allan Kardec and mediumistic accounts, describe how spirits at all levels of evolution have varied occupations and missions, from aiding the progress of humanity and other spirits to managing natural phenomena. It is emphasized that this activity is a source of happiness and moral advancement, and that all spirits are engaged in ongoing work for the universal good.
