Resumo: O texto apresenta um debate sobre o Espiritismo, focalizando a figura de Luiz Roberto Turatti, que se autodeclara ex-espírita estudioso, mas é acusado de superficialidade e de apoiar-se em argumentos falaciosos de Oscar Quevedo. O autor refuta as alegações de Turatti sobre Allan Kardec ter se retratado da Doutrina Espírita, mostrando inconsistências em suas fontes e raciocínio. Diversos exemplos de supostas conversões de espíritas para o cristianismo são apresentados como evidência da fragilidade do Espiritismo. Finalmente, o autor conclui que Turatti não possui o conhecimento profundo que afirma ter sobre a doutrina espírita.

Abstract: The text presents a debate on Spiritism, focusing on the figure of Luiz Roberto Turatti, who claims to be a former Spiritist scholar, but is accused of superficiality and of relying on fallacious arguments by Oscar Quevedo. The author refutes Turatti’s allegations that Allan Kardec had retracted the Spiritist Doctrine, showing inconsistencies in his sources and reasoning. Several examples of supposed conversions of Spiritists to Christianity are presented as evidence of the fragility of Spiritism. Finally, the author concludes that Turatti does not have the profound knowledge that he claims to have about the Spiritist Doctrine.
