Resumo: O texto analisa a controvérsia sobre a 5ª edição de A Gênese, de Allan Kardec, questionando se as alterações foram feitas por ele ou por terceiros. A análise se baseia em estudos estatísticos das diferenças entre as edições 4ª e 5ª, em comparações com artigos publicados na Revista Espírita de 1868, e em manuscritos que sugerem que Kardec recebeu orientação espiritual para revisar a obra. Os autores argumentam que a natureza das revisões, incluindo correções de pontuação e alinhamento com textos da Revista Espírita, apontam para a autoria de Kardec. Eles refutam acusações de adulteração, apresentando evidências que sustentam a revisão como feita pelo próprio Kardec.

Abstract: This text analyzes the controversy surrounding the 5th edition of Genesis by Allan Kardec, questioning whether the changes were made by him or by third parties. The analysis is based on statistical studies of the differences between the 4th and 5th editions, on comparisons with articles published in the Spiritist Review of 1868, and on manuscripts that suggest that Kardec received spiritual guidance to revise the work. The authors argue that the nature of the revisions, including corrections of punctuation and alignment with texts from the Spiritist Review, point to Kardec’s authorship. They refute accusations of adulteration, presenting evidence that supports the revision as having been made by Kardec himself.
