Resumo: O texto é uma refutação de um artigo que critica o Espiritismo por se autodenominar cristão. A refutação argumenta que o Espiritismo, ao contrário do que afirma o artigo original, interpreta os ensinamentos de Jesus de forma mais pura, sem as distorções da igreja ao longo da história, rejeitando aspectos do Antigo Testamento considerados moralmente questionáveis. A defesa do Espiritismo destaca sua ênfase na prática do amor e da caridade, contrastando-a com a hipocrisia de alguns que se dizem cristãos. Finalmente, o texto questiona a validade do Antigo Testamento como base para o cristianismo e enfatiza a importância da prática da fé sobre a simples adesão a dogmas.

Abstract: The text is a refutation of an article that criticizes Spiritism for calling itself Christian. The refutation argues that Spiritism, contrary to what the original article claims, interprets the teachings of Jesus in a purer way, without the distortions of the church throughout history, rejecting aspects of the Old Testament considered morally questionable. The defense of Spiritism highlights its emphasis on the practice of love and charity, contrasting it with the hypocrisy of some who call themselves Christians. Finally, the text questions the validity of the Old Testament as the basis for Christianity and emphasizes the importance of practicing faith over simple adherence to dogmas.
