Resumo: O texto discute as diferenças fundamentais entre o Espiritismo e o Panteísmo. O autor argumenta que a crença espírita na individualidade da alma após a morte, na preexistência e na reencarnação, é incompatível com a visão panteísta da fusão da alma com o Todo. A responsabilidade individual, um pilar do Espiritismo, é impossível dentro do panteísmo, pois este nega a individualidade contínua após a morte. O autor refuta a ideia de que o Espiritismo seja uma forma de panteísmo oriental, destacando a distinção entre Deus como criador transcendente (Espiritismo) e Deus como imanente ao mundo (Panteísmo). Finalmente, o texto apresenta uma breve história das diversas formas de panteísmo ao longo da história.

Abstract: The text discusses the fundamental differences between Spiritism and Pantheism. The author argues that the Spiritist belief in the individuality of the soul after death, in preexistence and reincarnation, is incompatible with the pantheistic view of the fusion of the soul with the Whole. Individual responsibility, a pillar of Spiritism, is impossible within pantheism, since it denies continued individuality after death. The author refutes the idea that Spiritism is a form of Eastern pantheism, highlighting the distinction between God as a transcendent creator (Spiritism) and God as immanent to the world (Pantheism). Finally, the text presents a brief history of the various forms of pantheism throughout history.
